First Happy.

Happy Birthday Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Truly a man of peace. The girls have learned so much about him in school that they have been throwing MLK facts at us all week. Princess Drama Queen has gotten all swept up in the celebration:

PDQ: You know dad, if it were not for MLK I’d not be here.

Me: How do you mean?

PDQ: You know, because grandpa was black.

{blink, blink}

Me: Um, which one?

PDQ: Oh never mind.

On to History- It is an exciting time, and I am looking forward to the prospect of new leadership, and have been trying to instill a sense of history into my kids. I am excited and yet I know the the inauguration is just going to totally F up my commute.

And now the WWC for this week.

On the plus side my commute was actually pretty good.

Wonderful job as always, love the unique perspective of light (16) and the trees against the blue, very cool. The unique perspective of the inauguration is great – hope you planned ahead!

Thank you. I did, not having all the government workers on the road helped a lot!

I just love your photography. Have I said that to you yet this year? ;)

The dead bug, the “bummer” hair, the backlit shot and that unusual perspective photo from inside something (maybe a silo?) are all AWESOME. Great job!

    g-man reply on January 21st, 2009 8:39 am:

You have, but don’t let that stop you from saying it again ;) It was an abandoned concrete mixing place, I have a shot looking up inside one of the silos, but by itself it is hard to tell what it is. (Dark tube with some light at the end).

LOVE the 22nd shot and man, am I glad you took a picture of a Christmas ‘b’all and not one that might go better with the ‘b’oob.

Thanks, LOL, yeah that hadn’t even crossed my mind, perv! ;) Just kidding of course.

You should take a bunch of your best photos and publish a book dude. Seriously, you could probably do a great “Photos of Light” book with sunsets and other stuff. It would be cool.

    g-man reply on January 21st, 2009 1:09 pm:

Thanks Jay. I’ll be sure to mention you in the dedication :)
