It was not nearly as hard to get up this morning at 6am since I was so well rested. I managed to remember where I worked and to bring mt key card so I could open the doors and stuff. Aside from that I did jack shit. I installed the 2.0 OS on my iPod Touch (A painful procedure, but it is working!) and downloaded pictures off my camera. I went through the 200 emails I had, and went out for lunch. I tried to recall what state I left some of my projects in, deciphering my own cryptic notes to myself, that 3 weeks ago made sense.

I have been lurking about your blogs, and I’ll try to get back into a more interactive mode soon.

Update:

Here is the photo I took showing how tall my grass was before I mowed it. This is the last “row” I had to mow (giving my back yard “mow-hawk” look) while I took the picture. I had the mower set on its highest setting.

Our vacation is over. It was a hoot. We will miss the hot tub. A lot.

We may or may not have fooled around in the tub (twice). We really enjoyed the convenience of having it all ready to go all the time. We soaked in it many times a day, it was sooo relaxing. The whole two weeks of not having to get up in the morning has done wonders for my disposition.

So what is your take on doing the hokie pokie in the hot tub/lake/stream/ocean? I find it a nice change of pace to do it under water, plus the buoyancy makes for some interesting iterations.

I do believe that the chemicals in the water left me a little raw. We’ll see if I can get some remedial attention to make it all better LOL.

Needless to say I took a shit load of pictures over the past two weeks. I posted some last week, and I’ll post more from week one later.

So this week promises to be much better than last week. Six days in the woods with nothing to do but rest. Woo hoo!! I brought a bottle of tequila and a bunch of beer, and bonus the last people here left a pile of beer too! We were greeted by my nephew singing into a microphone which the sound came out of an animated deer head “Buck” on the wall. Buck is a big hit with all the kids.

Saturday night it got pretty drunk out. My B.I.L. and I drank way more than the recommended allowance, so much so that when I woke up in the middle of the night to pee I could not figure out how to get out of my room. I debated waking up my lovely wife, then thought it would be better for me if I peed in the sink rather than disturb her sleep. In the end I made it out of the room and down the hall to use the toilet.

I knew on my way back to bed that Sunday my head was going to hurt, and hurt it did. Fortunately the nausea and headache ceased by lunchtime, thank you God for Motrin. Things were still a bit fuzzy around the edges all day but at least the pain was gone.

That brings us to today. Another lovely day, the weather has been very nice so far. Tonight I’ll be in the hot tub with a margarita.

Sleeping in your in-laws house is just not conducive for sex. Add to that the reason for said visit, and well, you get the idea. :/ Just to try to lighten up the mood a little, I offered up some nookie in the church on Sunday, because really if I had done it after the funeral on Tuesday that would seem crass.

Maybe next week while on vacation we can have some intimate time. (there is a 10 person hot tub after all!)

So after our arrival Saturday we celebrated H’s cousin’s 15th birthday, while at the party they picked out photographs of grandma to be displayed at the funeral home.

Sunday was church and more preparation. We went to H’s other uncles house for a BBQ. There we got to witness the pissing fountain boy in the form of my nephew. (I got his picture to foster the life long teasing he will get for that “boy” moment)

Monday was more preparation.

Tuesday was the funeral. It was a very nice service. The grand kids (including husbands if married) were pallbearers. Is it wrong of me to have wanted to take pictures there, I mean the casket display was very poignant, and all the flowers were amazing. There were several times I thought to myself that “this would make a nice picture. ”

Wednesday on we spent keeping busy. Going up to H’s other grandma’s house to go swimming, I rode 10 miles on my bike taking pictures around town. I have spent time getting to know the new coffee places around town. (Hey Mackey Hippy and Sassy, guess what! They have a brand new Tim Hortons here. I have had breakfast there one morning. The food was really good, but what they call lattes are more like hot chocolate.

We are now gearing up for vacation, which means that I am going to have to reorganize the van back into “hauling all our shit” mode. Joy.

We got the call Friday afternoon that my lovely wife’s paternal grandmother died after complications from surgery. She had been in a nursing home for a year and a half, since she suffered a stroke. She was 81. My lovely wife’s tributes are on her blog .

I have only known her since H and I started dating back in 1999. She always made me feel welcome and like one of the family right from the start. She extended that same feeling to my sons from my first marriage. She was just a nice lady who was faithful and who believed in family.

Her funeral is Tuesday, so we packed up two weeks worth stuff since next week is our vacation, and headed off to Ohio. I still need to get someone to mow my lawn, and feed the fish. (Es has a line on the fish, thanks Es.)

So here we are. We managed to get out of the house Saturday by noon, and it has been non-stop since. After the funeral it should calm down some.

The plus part … Holy crap what a busy weekend. Saturday was non-stop, and Sunday we rode around the airport again (and didn’t get lost). H says it is 14 miles, my ODO said 10, but I am pretty sure it is not configured for my size wheels. With all that exercise one might think that I dropped a couple pounds. Um, no. I gained 4. WTF over? I was eating reasonably well, and not skipping any meals, so I reiterate WTF?

I hope that this is only a “muscle is heavier than fat” thing and with the added muscle mass I will burn calories faster and the ripped dude under the layer of pudge will once again reign.

So there I was, lying in bed, sleeping. I rolled over to get more comfortable, I opened my eyes to make sure that I was not going to flop an arm or otherwise crash into my lovely wife, and I see her lookin’ at me. (She may have gotten up to use the facilities and then gotten back into bed when I noticed her lookin’ at me, it was late I forget) Anyway, I was a bit confused, because she is lookin’ at me strangely. At some point I closed my eyes.

I wonder if she wants sex? I think to myself.

Needless to say I am tired this morning.

So, that brings up the question of certain nocturnal activities. I know some women who enjoy being woken up to varying stages of gettin’ it on, and others who don’t. (I also realize that a lot of that is dependent on the amount of sleep one gets and is subject to change). I’m not sure if I ever heard of a guy say that waking up to having his peter worked on was bad.

So there you have it (Gary) the question for this HMS Friday, What kind of nocturnal activities do you participate in, and how often? And if you don’t why not?

With Vacation Bible School every night it has been a zoo in casa de g-man.
